Using a custom domain (like live.yourwebsite.com) provides a seamless, professional experience for your listeners. To use a custom domain on the WebRadioPlayers platform, you must prove that you own the domain by adding a CNAME record to your DNS settings (usually found in GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Namecheap, or your web host).
Custom Domain Setup Dialog

Step 1: Choose Your Custom Subdomain

In the dialog box, enter the exact web address you want to use for your public page (e.g., apolloradio.com or listen.apolloradio.com).

Step 2: Create a CNAME Record

Open a new tab in your browser and log into the company where you purchased your domain name. Find the “DNS Management” or “DNS Settings” page. Create a new record using the exact values provided in the dialog box:
  • Type: Select CNAME.
  • Host / Name: This is the prefix of your domain. Follow the exact instructions in the dialog box (it will usually be a specific subdomain, or @ for a root domain).
  • Points to / Target: Click the copy icon next to the target URL (e.g., uzwza64qfj.webradioplayers.site) and paste it into your DNS provider.
Save the record in your DNS provider’s dashboard.

Step 3: Validate & Save

Once you have saved the record at your domain registrar, return to the WebRadioPlayers dashboard and click Validate and Save.
DNS Propagation: Changes to DNS records are not always instant. Depending on your provider, it can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 24 hours for the new CNAME record to propagate across the global internet. If validation fails immediately, wait 15 minutes and try clicking the button again.
Once validated, this domain will be permanently attached to your workspace, and you can select it during the Domain Setup step of any Public Page!
